How to determine the best desktop computer monitor stand

monitor stand

Buying a desktop monitor stand seems to be a simple choice. After all, it is just a simple and cheap tool to support your computer monitor.
However important the monitor stand cannot be overstated by its price. This small peripheral device is an important part of your workstation or entertainment system. It may house the most expensive device in the system; the monitor.

So how do you choose the best monitor riser for your computer? Let us find out.

Construction quality and materials
The most important thing to consider when choosing a monitor stand is manufacturing quality. The stand cannot be bent and must be strong enough to support the weight of the monitor. Except for bending, there should be no squeaking noise when placing the monitor on the stand. This shows that they made the bracket of inferior materials and will give way sooner.

It is also important to consider the material of the scaffold. Most display arms are made of plastic or other non-magnetic materials. Some manufacturers may also use electromagnets for electronic components, such as USB charging ports. Although you might think this is more “cost-effective”. The magnetic field in the circuit can interfere with the display’s electronic components, doing more harm than good.

If you are considering installing a monitor with a power outlet, make sure that the components produce low magnetism. This may verify by measuring equipment or, more conveniently, by using common household items (such as a compass).

Adjustability
This is especially important if you are using an LCD monitor with a narrow viewing angle. Get a height-adjustable monitor stand you can use to change the height of the monitor from the mounting point. It is also best to have an adjustable horizontal rotation device, although this is not common. Manufacturers provide pivots for height-adjustable monitor stands, but more expensive monitor lifters may also use electronic controls.

Installation options
The next one on the list is the bracket mounting option. For a wall mount option, there should be a hole in the back of the bracket. The bottom of the bracket is more common and is used to hold the monitor in place during use. If you plan to use the monitor as part of a home entertainment system, the first thing to consider.

Colour
Although this is not as important as the above. It still needs to be considered because the monitor stand needs to match your environment. This makes the system look good because we can match the bracket with the rest of the gear.
